Website URL Validation Issue
Why This Rejection Happens
This is a technical validation error regarding your Brand Website URL. The vetting system attempted to access your site and encountered an error (404, 500, DNS failure), or the URL provided was malformed (e.g., missing `http`, containing illegal characters).
- Typo in the domain (e.g., `google.con`).
- Site was down for maintenance during the scan.
- URL includes spaces or non-standard characters.
- Geo-blocking prevented the US-based vetting bot from accessing the site.
Root Cause Analysis
Primary Triggers
- Availability: The most basic requirement is uptime. If your hosting provider had an outage, the bot marked the URL invalid.
- Blocking: Some security plugins (Wordfence, Cloudflare) block "bot" traffic. If the vetting bot is blocked, the URL is marked invalid.
Step-by-Step Remediation
Test the URL
Copy the URL exactly as you submitted it. Paste it into a browser Incognito window. Does it load? If not, fix the typo or server issue.
Check Firewall Rules
If the site loads for you, check your server logs. Did you block IPs from Amazon AWS or Google Cloud? Vetting bots often run on these clouds. Whitelist standard US traffic.
Pre-Resubmission Checklist
- The URL starts with `http://` or `https://`.
- The URL does not return a 404 or 500 error code.
