Prohibited Content: Hate Speech
Why This Rejection Happens
Carriers enforce a zero-tolerance policy for Hate Speech on the 10DLC network. This rejection means your sample messages, website content, or opt-in language contained discriminatory, violent, or threatening language targeting protected groups (race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc.).
- Slurs or derogatory language in sample messages.
- Linking to hate group websites or manifestos.
- Threats of violence or incitement to violence.
- Using coded language or symbols associated with hate groups.
Root Cause Analysis
Primary Triggers
- Content Violation: Unlike "grey area" violations, this is a "black and white" ban. Carriers have the right to refuse service to anyone promoting hate or violence.
- Reputational Risk: Carriers aggressively filter this content to avoid liability and brand damage. Appeals are rarely granted.
Step-by-Step Remediation
Self-Audit for Toxicity
If you believe this is an error (e.g., you are an anti-hate organization quoting hate speech for educational purposes), you must make that explicitly clear in your Campaign Description. Otherwise, remove all offensive content immediately.
Check for Contextual Errors
Sometimes innocent words can trigger filters in specific contexts. Ensure your message intent is clear and professional.
Pre-Resubmission Checklist
- I confirm my content does NOT target protected groups.
- I have removed all threatening or violent language.
