CTA Insufficient or Missing
Why This Rejection Happens
The Call-to-Action (CTA)—the specific language displayed where a user enters their phone number—is missing federally required disclosures. The vetting team looked at your website or form and did not see the specific legal text telling the user what they are signing up for.
- Missing Brand Name in the disclosure text.
- Missing "Message and data rates may apply".
- Missing "Message frequency varies".
- Missing links to Terms and Privacy Policy.
- Disclosure is located too far from the submit button (e.g., in the footer).
Root Cause Analysis
Primary Triggers
- Incomplete Disclaimer: You have a disclaimer, but it only says "We respect your privacy" instead of the full required legal block.
- Location Issue: The disclosure is buried in the footer of the website rather than being immediately next to the phone number input field.
- Brand Ambiguity: The disclosure says "I agree to receive messages from us" instead of "from [Company Name]".

Step-by-Step Remediation
Add the Missing Language
Update your web form, paper form, or kiosk screen to include the full disclosure text. It must be visible before the user submits their number.
Correct CTA
By clicking submit, you agree to receive SMS from Acme Corp. Msg&Data rates may apply...

Missing CTA
[Phone Input]
[SUBMIT]
No disclosure text found near button.
Update Privacy & Terms Links
Ensure the words "Privacy Policy" and "Terms of Service" in your CTA are actual clickable hyperlinks that open the respective documents. Broken links or non-linked text will cause a secondary rejection (Code 30891 or 7100).
Pre-Resubmission Checklist
- The disclosure text is placed directly above or below the "Submit" button.
- Brand Name is explicitly stated in the text.
- "Message and data rates may apply" is included.
- "Message frequency varies" is included.
- Help/Stop instructions are included (or linked).
