What It Does
The Use Case Selector recommends the TCR campaign classification that matches your traffic. You describe the program, and it weighs message purpose, volume and affiliate involvement against the standard and special TCR use-case categories.
Use-case misalignment is one of the most common rejection causes: marketing traffic filed as account notifications, or several unrelated programs filed as one campaign. Choosing the right category before filing avoids a resubmission.
Who It Is For
- Businesses filing a first campaign
- Senders rejected for use-case mismatch
- Teams deciding whether to split traffic into several campaigns
Inputs
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
campaignDescription | string | Required | Description of the campaign purpose. |
messageVolume | string | Optional | low, medium, high or very_high. |
hasAffiliates | boolean | Optional | Whether the campaign uses affiliates. |
Outputs
- Recommended TCR use case for the described program
- Standard response fields: success, tool, tokenUsed, balanceAfter, results
Worked Example
From the MyTCRPlus API documentation. The request is sent to POST /v1/tools/use-case-selector; the web tool in the Compliance Suite takes the same inputs.
Request
{
"campaignDescription": "Appointment reminders and confirmations for medical practice",
"messageVolume": "medium",
"hasAffiliates": false
}
The response returns the fields listed under Outputs.
Cost
1 token per recommendation. Tool tokens are bought once, work across all 16 web tools, and never expire, and a free token is added every day. Tool tokens cost $3.50 to $5.00 each, depending on pack size. Compliance API calls use separate API tokens ($0.50 to $0.90 each), and professional users and resellers can ask about an optional monthly token plan.
How to Run It
- Open the TCR Use Case Selector in the Compliance Suite and sign in, or create an account.
- Enter the inputs listed above and run the tool. One token is deducted per run unless noted under Cost.
- For automation, call
POST /v1/tools/use-case-selectoronhttps://api.mytcrplus.com/v1with a JWT bearer token. See the API documentation.
FAQ
What happens if I pick the wrong use case?
Reviewers reject campaigns whose samples and description do not match the selected use case, and carriers can filter live traffic that drifts from it. A new campaign or resubmission is then needed.
Can one campaign cover marketing and notifications?
The Mixed use case exists for combined programs, but unrelated programs are usually cleaner as separate campaigns. The selector recommends based on your description.
Why does affiliate involvement matter?
Affiliate and lead-generation traffic is treated with extra scrutiny by carriers, so the selector asks about it.
How much does a recommendation cost?
One token per recommendation. Tokens are bought once, work across all MyTCRPlus tools, and do not expire.
Is there an API endpoint?
Yes. POST /v1/tools/use-case-selector on the MyTCRPlus REST API.
